The Top 10 Blog Interview With…@paul_steele
The subject of this weeks interview is a great Twitter character, Paul Steele. A great lover of the outdoor life, Paul is a fantastic guy to follow with a constant stream of entertaining tweets and Retweets and some great connections. Always positive and supportive and involved in so many things that I really marvel at where he fits it all in! You can find out a lot more about Paul at his marvellous Bald Hiker blog and you can follow him on Twitter @paul_steele.
Check out the other stuff he is involved in at TwitterteamHimalayas (A great cause so be sure to check it out) and of course the world renowned Twitter SingUps.
If you were stranded on a desert island and were allowed one luxury item what would it be and why?
Of course, my hiking boots. If I’m stranded I may as well enjoy it, hopefully the island is big enough to explore.
Do you have any phobias?
I actually used to be very scared of heights when young. Over time and through the hobby that has disappeared now.
Who inspires you and why?
People that are naturally happy and love whatever they are doing. If someone goes the extra mile to help somebody else no matter who they are then they are a great example to follow.
Which animal would you most like to be and why?
Crikey! So may wonderful animals to choose from.
A rabbit running around the great outdoors, enjoying life?
A whale leisurely swimming around the world?
An eagle floating above being able to marvel at it all?
If you could have a superpower what would it be and why?
To fly :) See more of the world and would be much cheaper.
What do you think you will be doing in 10 years time?
In 10 years I hope to have pushed my boundaries more than to the limit and can look back and see where I’ve been and what I have done and hopefully helped others along the way. But definitely still be looking forward to adventures ahead.
What is the one thing in life that irritates you the most and why?
It takes a lot to irritate me but to answer the question I say people that are negative for the sake of being negative. You know the type, ridicule, take a swipe at others and would rather bring a good man down than aspiring to be good.
What is your favourite guilty pleasure?
Ha-ha, I do like a pint or 3, but I get the Pringles effect also once I pop open a bottle of Port!
Which historical character would you most like to meet and why?
Again so many to choose from: Capt R Scott and Edmund Hillary – 2 great people to start with. What tales they could tell, what advice they could give, and a great example of mental attitude and team play.
Can you tell us one thing about yourself that would surprise people who know you?
There’s always something new to learn about people isn’t there? I do know people think I am sat behind a computer all day and night tweeting. Actually I am out and about most of the time. And you can see 90% of my tweets are from iPhone.
I thought it would be nice to include one of Paul’s Videos which tell you a lot about what makes him tick. This one is a collection of photos he has taken of Mount Snowdon over the years. Enjoy!
Many thanks Paul, watch out for another interview next week.
