Everyone loves gadgets. College students, especially, love gadgets. Not only are they just a lot of fun, but they provide students the potential to be more productive. The college student budget, however, is not usually abundant. With that being said, here is a list of the top ten best gadgets that people can buy for the student in their life for Christmas 2010.
Easier Studying
1. Cell phones
Cell phones with e-mail and browser capability are at the top of the list because communication is key – especially in an academic setting. The iPhone or Android phones are popular.

2. Ipad
There is no need to tote a heavy laptop around when an iPad has several functions of a laptop. The large screen makes it easy to use the iPad to read e-books, play games, take pictures, and listen to music. The GPS is helpful for getting around college towns.
3. The Pulse Smartpen
This gadget allows a student to write, record, playback, and store lectures and notes on their computer. The Pulse Smartpen holds over 400 hours of audio that you can play back anytime.

Dorm Life
4. The Maxi-Matic Elite Cuisine 3-in-1 Breakfast Station combo
The Maxi-Matic Elite Cuisine 3-in-1 Breakfast Station combo doesn’t need very much space. The station has a one-slice toaster oven with a timer, four-cup coffee maker, and a six-inch griddle. It works well for one person to cook breakfast or even a snack.
5. Sonic Bomb Alarm Clock with Bed Shaker
If you have trouble hearing your alarm in the mornings for class, try the Sonic Bomb Alarm Clock with Bed Shaker. The alarm clock has a sound level of 113 decibels, which would definitely wake you up. It is too loud for your roommates, put the clock under mattress and it will shake your bed to wake you.

Taking a Break
6. The Nintendo Wii
After a day full of classes and an evening of studying, it is time to take a break. The Nintendo Wii has games that will help you get in shape or stay in shape. Some colleges offer class credit for using the Wii for sports, cardio, and other activities.
7. The Roku XD Streaming Player 1080p
This is the perfect gift to go with Netflix. If you are a Netflix subscriber and have a Roku, you can stream music, radio, news, and 100,000 movies or television shows directly to your television.

8. Kinect
For those that have an X-box 360, the Kinect is a controller free gaming experience. Kinect allows characters the freedom to move, kick, and spin without a controller. There is no learning curve: just step in front of the sensor and begin.
9. iPod Touch
The new iPod Touch has upgraded features like the HD camcorder, front-facing camera, and integrated microphone. The 32 GB iPod Touch has the capacity to hold about 8,000 songs, 40,000 photos, or 40 hours of video.
10. 3D TV
3D TV is here, even if content is still scarce. With a 3D TV, you can stream videos and movies, play games, and keep up with your social networking in a fully immersive 3D experience.

The holiday season is the season of giving! So instead of giving your college student some ridiculous item from the college bookstore, give them something they’ll like. Receiving one (or more) of these gadgets this year will surely make for a happy and productive new year.
Thanks Courtney. Please let us know of the gadgets on your Christmas wish list this year.
