In times of economical recession and global crisis we all have to tighten our belts to make it through the day. There are however things that shouldn’t fall under the reign of financial restriction. When estimating your budget these 10 items should NOT make it on the list for saving money with:
10) Toilet Paper
You surely will have experienced the quality of scratchy toilet paper before and don’t wish to be stuck with this uncomfortable feeling forever. No, toilet paper must be soft and pleasant and it’s surely worth spending a few pennies more for that experience.
9) Energy-saving light bulbs
The average energy saving light bulb has a lifespan of at least 6 – 10 years. Imagine yourself walking into the same room for that amount of time thinking that the light is actually way too piercing to make anyone feel comfortable and cosy under…
8) Tooth Paste
Yucky stuff on lips in the morning or before going to bed? This is gross…
7) Personal luggage
Have you ever waited on the baggage claim for your bag to come but instead of that all you see are your clothes spread over the conveyor belt?
6) Sat Nav
You’re at the end of the world in the middle of a desert trying to find your way to the next gas station for beverage & petrol and your sat nav doesn’t have the feature because it was a cheap offer? BAD IDEA!
5) The Sofa
Imagine as follows: You’re having a long day at work, you’ve dealt all day long with grumpy customers and tedious co-workers. Now you’re finally home and able to put your feet up and let go of what bugged you all day. If there is a place in this universe, that should be sacred, then it’s the sofa in the living room. Here’s where you invite your friends to sit down on, where you lay your head for comfort in your rare spare time and where you’re allowed to just be yourself. Don’t let this shrine be a filthy, uncomfortable, lice infested stronghold.
4) Compliments
Compliments don’t cost a thing and yet they are precious to anyone who receives them in an honest and sincere way. Let’s make paying someone a compliment a daily habit without worrying about over investing!
3) Smiles
Kindness makes the world a tiny bit nicer – that applies to almost everyone on this planet. And the easiest way to show kindness is to smile… Anything can happen when you put on a smile – try to do it regularly without restriction and notice what happens… Things will be different!
2) Friends
What would we be without them? We share the fun times, laugh together hysterically and when we’re down we turn to them for comfort. Real friends don’t demand from us too much but when they’re in trouble, we certainly don’t want to be cheap on them and let them down.
1) Yourself
It’s a simple bill, the only person that will ever be there for you 100% of all times is yourself. Don’t cheat on you by denying yourself some fun, time, or love when it’s offered to you. Life is too short to waste it or to be cheap about it.

Super post Nini, many thanks. My eyes are still watering from the thought of that toilet roll!
