Top Google+ People of The Week

Regular visitors will know all about my regular Top Twitter People of the Week posts where I highlight some of the most interesting people I have recently come across on Twitter.

I thought it might be fun to see how the same concept works with Google+, don’t worry Twitter, you will always be my first love and I will be back soon!

Realising that I have only just scratched the surface with my own Circles I asked the Google+ community to tell me who they thought had made the most positive impact over the first couple of weeks of this brave new world.

I am grateful to all who responded and although some nominees were familiar, I was delighted to find that some names who I hadn’t come across before were put forward. My decision to cast the net wider than my own circles was justified and the result is that we all have the opportunity to connect with some more amazing people. As a result I am delighted to present (in the order they were mentioned) my inaugural Top Google+ People of The Week compilation. Wow, that turned out to be quite a list, I do hope you find some new people to connect with who will add to your enjoyment of Google+! Future lists will, I assure you, only contain 10 names!

    I m blown away, humbled, honored, oh God! I m speechless :D !!! I really don’t know what to say, my words of gratitude are running short, Thank you SO much my friend :D !!! When i began with the list, i just prayed that @ruhanirabin:disqus  and @iconic88:twitter  were here, because they’re truly amazing, but at the end of the list, i was about to fall of my chair, never even in the least of my thoughts it ever occurred to me….A heartfelt gratitude to you my friend…that kinda really brings tears to my eyes :’-)….there i go emotional….LOL

    And as Ruhani said, wow, i m so happy to see someone finally listing people not only counting follower numbers :D !!! I am not going to forget this day for years to come. Wow!!!

    Great list, Tony. I added everyone to a new Circle, Tony’s Top 10. Except Richard Branson. His link didn’t work. Perhaps he blocked me…

      Thanks for the heads up about R Branson, looked genuine but it just goes to show – not in my list or Circles any more. At least I didn’t fall for Lady Gaga when she followed me earlier today :-)

        And that’s one of the features that I hope Google+ will adopt from Twitter. Celebrity verification. Right now it’s sorely missing.

        Once Google+ gets verification, the celebrities will start bragging when you follow them, Tony! :-)

      Thanks Gini, it was fun to do too :-) I am liking what I see too, feels like a comfortable place to be and I will most likely try the Top Google+ approach again to see where it goes.

    That was quite the list; you have some real heavy hitters here this week. I know about 1/2 of them and they are all quality. Guess I better check the others as well, huh?

      Hi Bill, I did go over my usual quota of 10 this time but it seemed the right way to go in the circumstances. It’s going to be interesting to see how Google+ develops but we are off to a promising start :-)
